☁️ Nektari i Polifonisë, Eleni Mërkuri & Grupi i Fëmijëve, Gjirokastër – May 30th ☁️
The Nectar of Polyphony is a group of young people from the Gjirokastër region who, united by their passion for Albanian polyphonic singing, have come together in Tirana and officially began their journey on the stage of Cloud Fest 6. One of their songs, “We Took the Voice from Our Grandfathers,” speaks to the continuation of a tradition that flows through their veins. Their melodies soar above the Castle of Argjiro and Ali Pasha, drift with the breeze over Zagori and Kurvelesh, and descend into the waves of the Ionian Sea.
Their mission is to pass on the song they inherited from their grandparents to the generations yet to come. Led by Mihal Kaçi, the group consists of: Alvaro Çenko, Rudian Zia, Rubin Ceka, Juliano Zholi, Donald Çani, Igli Frëngu, Deivis Myslymi, Joan Duka, Leonel Xhelili, Kimeld Çenko, and Alban Çenko, each playing a unique and important role in the performance. On this polyphonic night that unites three generations, we will also welcome special guests, the legendary lead voice of Pilur’s polyphony, Eleni Mërkuri, and the children’s group from the Cultural Center of Gjirokastër.
