BBB Johannes Deimling

BBB Johannes Deimling, born in 1969 in Andernach, Germany, is a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice spans performance art, video art, art film, drawing, painting, and art education.
Since 1997, Deimling has dedicated a significant part of his artistic journey to exploring and teaching performance art processes. In 2008, he founded PAS | Performance Art Studies, an international art and education project, where he continues to serve as the artistic director.

In 2016, Deimling married Polish photographer Monika Deimling, with whom he shares a close and ongoing artistic collaboration and together they have contributed to Cloudfest every year, staging and producing specifically the cover image of each edition and also contributed with performance and performance art studies to our students.

At the core of Deimling’s work lies the creation of visual imagery that transcends direct logic, inviting metaphorical and poetic interpretation. Through an artistic freedom that bridges the realms of image and contemplation, his work opens up philosophical spaces, offering transformative perspectives on perception. His artistic universe engages with a broad spectrum of contemporary themes, fostering thought-provoking connections between art and the viewer’s experience.
