Peter Miyalu joins Cloud Fest with a deeply moving performance that touches on memory, identity, and emotional sensitivity, exploring themes of migration and cultural and colonial heritage. Through the body, objects, and processes of communication, he seeks to understand how individuals and communities shape one another through shared gestures, common objects, and the spaces they create together.

In his performance “Around the Table”, the artist creates an intimate space where the table becomes the center of a ritual of sharing, transmission, and encounter. With slow and deliberate gestures, he opens several suitcases filled with personal objects, each laden with memory, and carefully places them one by one onto an empty table. This transforms the space into a threshold between self and other, a silent point of connection.

His actions—simple yet ritualistic—unfold in quiet dialogue with the audience. This moment of suspension creates a fragile space of hospitality, where the traditional roles of artist and spectator begin to blur, allowing room for a shared experience. The table becomes not just a place of welcome, but a living archive of memory, where traces, absences, and exchanged gestures bear witness to a fleeting, yet powerful, encounter.
