Berber Diffusion is London’s first traditional Amazigh band, leading the scene with a unique blend of Amazigh pentatonic scales and Gnawa traditional music.

The Amazigh people (also known as Berbers) are pre-Arab nomadic clans from North Africa, whose history runs deep under the Saharan sand, surviving centuries of oppression and erasure.
Their musical traditions live on today through travelling musicians who perform at weddings, ceremonies, and celebrations, keeping alive the stories and poetry of their ancestors.

The group’s founder and lead singer, Abdellah Rais, is a multi-talented musician trained by masters in Agadir and across Morocco. He plays banjo, guembri, qraqab, and drums, and also composes house tracks — fusing the many strands of his heritage into a sound that’s both innovative and deeply rooted.
